Football Roundup: Broncos Edge Struggling Jets in Low-Scoring Affair

In a defensive struggle this weekend, the Denver Broncos managed to secure a 13-11 victory over the winless New York Jets. Signal-caller Bo Nix threw an early scoring strike and kicker Wil Lutz kicked the game-winning decisive three-pointer to seal the ugly win.

Dominant Performance Wins Game

Despite registering nine sacks versus Jets quarterback Justin Fields, the Broncos were behind 11-10 after giving up a two-point play in the second half. Interestingly, the Jets managed just 82 total net yards throughout the entire game.

The Denver quarterback, who went 19 of 30 attempts for 174 yards, led a critical 12-play, 65-yard drive that ended with Lutz's 27-yard kick with approximately five minutes left.

Record Struggles for Jets Attack

Despite their horrendous offensive display, the Jets maintained the ball with a chance to drive for a potential winning score. However Fields was tackled on fourth down from the Denver 44 after head coach Aaron Glenn opted to go for it instead of calling on kicker Nick Folk for a difficult kick.

Fields struggled throughout, completing just 9 of 17 attempts for 45 yards. New York finished with minus-10 passing yards, the lowest in any game since 1998.

"The aerial attack was completely absent," the coach commented after the contest.
